This is not about the TV show on ABC every Wednesday night, but it’s about what I’ve lost in recent years. First lost was my passion for snowboarding after the accident at Kirkwood’s terrain park. I landed on my tail bone from roughly 10ft on the air. I was lucky that nothing was broken. The following year snow season wasn’t that great to attract me to the mountain, and all together I stopped snowboarding.
On 2007 Labor Day, the day which I will never forget. After my failure of finishing the 14,000ft elevation Mt Shasta hike via Clear Creek trail, I decided to take my road bike out for a short ride. Road biking is not as easy and safe I’ve always thought it was. I was hit by a SUV while going downhill at ~25mph. Again, miracles do exist. I was taken to the ER, yet was released soon after for nothing was found. I was glad I survived the crash but couldn’t find myself on the bike for awhile. Encouraging enough a male nurse came up to me a said, “don’t let it keep you off the bike…”. My bike was nowhere to be found for the police officers left it there at the scene of an accident.
